ALFRED FREDERICK MULLEN

14th October 1868 --- 22nd August 1936

Below is all I know on this composer.

Alfred Frederick Mullen, a English composer born in 1868. He composer a lot of his music under  one of his many pseudonym.  In the
1890's Frederic met Charlotte Wood who was to become his wife in 1896. He was well established by 1901 as a composer in his own
right,  before he  had became a  famous composer,  he worked with his mother  in th family publishing business,  but he  had left the
business by 1895. He published some of his works under his own name  but also used several pseudonyms, for instance  Gustav Lind
Jean Morel, Anton Lemieux, Jean Le Clercq as well as others.

It seemed the fashion to use French sounding names as they were thought to increase sales. He would also write  some articles for
the Huddersfield Examiner,  Some of Frederick works "Told by the Fireside",  from Lind's  Fireside Dreams and the  piece I have now
sequence from The Enchanted garden Lyric Suite for Piano, which he publish under the name of Jean Morel

Frederic died in 1936, he left two sons that did not follow him into the music business.
