Casella was born in Turin in 1883  into a well known musical family, his father, Carlo,  and his brothers,  Cesare and Gioacchino,  were all professional
cellists while his mother, Maria, was a pianist, Casella was surrounded by music that became his life and was introducted to music via his mother who
gave him his first musical lessons on the piano,  and in around 1896 he moved to Paris  with his mother to studied piano  and composition at the Paris

Even though his love  the french style of music,  he composed in the late Romantic stlye of music such as Mahler,  he completed his first Symphony in

made live-recording for player piano music rolls for the Aeolian Duo-Art system, which he did during the 1920's.

It is thanks mostly through the efforts of Casella that the works of Antonio Vivaldi's was resurrected, Casella had in 1939 organised the Vivaldi Week,
it is through this that  Vivaldi's compositions have enjoyed a universal  success since that time.   Casella produced many works,  such as Concerto per
Archi, Opus.40b, (1923), Violin Concerto in A minor, Opus.48, (1928), and Cello Sonata No.2 in C major, Opus.45, (1926), plus many other's
