Hubert Charles Bath was born in Barnstaple,  Devon in 1883, his interest in music started when he join a choir at his local church, and
in 1899 he entered the Royal Academy of Music, were he studied the Piano under Oscar Beringer and then composition with Frederick
Corder.   later in around 1913/14 he was conducter and   chorus master to the Quinlan's Opera group, and with them went on a world
tour.

Bath decided later after he returned from the tour to begin to established himself as a composer of light opera's, for example included
Bubbole, and Young England, then in the late 1920's until the mid 1940's he bacame a well known film composer,  music director, and
conductor. the following is just some of his works, Alfred Hitchcock's Blackmail,  Millions Like Us and Tudor Rose. Bath also composed
for orchestral suites, brass bands, choral works and theatre music.

One of the last works from Bath was also one of his best loved piece Cornish Rhapsody, written for 1944 film Love Story. Bath died in
Harefield, in 1945.
