CARL HERMANN RE JOHN.T.BILTCLIFFE

1857 --- 1930

I managed to find a little information on this composer online.

Carl Hemann was born in Barnsley, Yorkshire, his interest in music may have come about at his local church as he became a church
organist,  which he did for nearly all his life, but Carl Hermann was not his real name but pseudonym of John Thomas Biltcliffe,  the
reason he wrote under the name of Carl Hemann is that he thought it would make more people take notice of his work's if he wrote
under a German name of Carl Hermann.

Hermann produce at  the time a very popular  First Six Months at the Pianoforte,   which is still in print,  and is sold through out the
world,  and makes a fine introduction to the Piano. Hermann composed mostly marches,   light music and salon music,  you are still
able to download some of his pieces if you look online.

One of Hermann's most popular works's was titled British Cavalry, Grand-Galop de Concert, which he wrote in the 1890's so that the
children could marched into school every day. The piece I have Sequenced below is March Galop Militaire.   Herman composed over a
100 works.
