ALBERT HECKLES OSWALD

1879    ---    1929

Albert.H.Oswald was born in Hetton-le-Hole,  Durham County in 1879 and died in Newcastle in 1929. Oswald was a Composer and
Organist,  he then moved to Thornley (I do not know when) and then became the organist at Thornley church,  which had a plaque
dedicated to his memory but the church was demolished in 2007.

He composed mostly for piano and organ,  you can still obtain sheet music of some of his piece's online, a example of his published
works, Autumn Leaves, (1908),  31 Organ Voluntaries, (1912), Autumn Memories,(1907),  Festival of Roses,  (1913) and one of his
last works was Londonderry Air, (1927) traditional Irish Air, for piano.

Oswald is said to have become very ill around 1928 and died at a nursing home in Newcastle in 1929. The works he composed were
mostly done under his own name, but sometime's wrote under a pseudonym. Oswald had never married,  and lived with his mother
and two brothers at Thornley.
