LAWRENCE WRIGHT

(PAUL PAREE)

15th February 1888 --- 19th May 1964

I have just put a short Bio, most of the information from Wikipedia on this composer

Lawrence Wright was born in Leicester in 1888, his musical talent came from his father Charles Wright, who taught the violin and also sold
instruments and sheet music.  He left school at a early age and would sell music as well as some of his own compositions at his father stall.
He joined a concert party in Eastbourne as a violinist and singer.

In 1911 Wright moved to London, and set up the Lawrence Wright Music Co.  This is were his publishing career started, Wright would write
his music under pseudonym's,  the piece I have done below was Paul Paree as well as Horatio Nicholls,  and others. He founded The Melody
Maker in 1926.  He would come up with some  out landish  promotional stunts,  in 1924 to promote the song Sahara,  such as riding a camel
around Piccadilly Circus.

Wright co-wrote over 500 songs, and piano pieces, such as Shepherd of the Hills and Among My Souvenirs. In 1930 he composed a the piece
Amy, Wonderful Amy, a tribute to aviator Amy Johnson. He died in London in 1964, aged 76.
