Wilhelm

WILHELM ALETTER

27th January 1867 --- 30th June 1934

Wilhelm was born in Nauheim, Germany in 1867.  I can find no history of his early years and what influence his interest in music and
composing, the first time we hear about him was in 1892 when he published a collection of piano pieces.  Not long after he moved to
Berlin to studied piano, and composition, under Engelbert Humperdinck and others.

From 1894, he spent most of his time as a pianist, composer, and even as a music dealer. The piece I have sequenced below he wrote
under a  pseudonym of Leo Norden.   He wrote mostly  salon music  for orchestra and piano as  well as numerous couplets and songs.

Wilhelm published a cookbook written by the well-known women's rights activist Hedwig Heyl, and to encourage people, he wrote in
the foreword that he promised to create  a compositions free of charge with a personal dedication  to anyone who sent a new recipe.
These are some of his own serious works for example he composed,  Aubade Napolitaine,  (1893),  a american interlude for piano, At
the  Penguins  Picnic. (1910),   a Chamber piece Petite  Gavotte  for cello  and piano(1909).   Wilhelm  died in  Wiesbaden Germany  in
1934.
