Leonardo Vinci was born at Strongoli in Italy and studied under Gaetano Greco in the Conservatorio dei Poveri at Naples.  His famed began
to spread after he composed a number of Comic Opera's which he composed in the Neapolitan dialect in around 1719, he also became well
known for also composing many dramatic opera's.

Vinci became in the late 1720's the principle composer, for the Theatre delle Dame and composed Porpora's,  which he presented in Rome,
by this time Vinci had become very popular composer.  Its remoured he had had a illicit romantic affair,  and seems to have been poisoned
in relation to this romantic misadventure in 1730.
