THOMAS PHILANDER RYDER

29th June 1836 --- 2nd December 1887

As normal I could find very little information on this composer

Thomas.P.Ryder was born in Massachusetts, USA,  who was not only a composer known mostly for his famous Hymns and parlor pieces
for piano, he was a expert organist,  and built Organ's, I would assume for churches in Massachusetts and elsewere etc. Ryder was also
a teacher and conductor.

Ryder studied under Gustav Satter and later took a post as the church organist in Hyannis. At age 23 he moved to Buston and served as
choirmaster and teacher at the Tremont Temple.  Ryder spent some of his time compiling anthologies,  of sacred and secular partsongs.
He died at a early age of 51 in Massachusetts.

A little known fact that Thomas Ryder was the first composer in America to write for the Organ a storm piece, The Thunder Storm Opus.
108, Ryder developed as an improvisations and composed  pieces based on themes of battles's from the Last Judgment.  Just a example
of some of his works,  Life's But A Dream, Opus.60, Flowers That Bloom and Die,  Opus.101,  and Rock of Ages, Opus.120, you should be
able to find sheet music of this Composer on Duckandgo or Google.
