I like to thank Malcolm Christie for providing the biography, thank you.
Born in the Village of Calanda on 4th April 1640 in Aragon, Sanz was a priest as well as an excellent Spanish guitarist.
He studied and taught at the univercity of Salamanca, where he was professor of music. As well as his music - which was mostly dance forms such as canarios, the folia and the espanoleta - Sanz wrote a book Instruction de Musica sobre guitarra espanola (1674), although for a five double stinged guitar, not the current six single string spanigh guitar.
Sanz traveled widely, including Italy. He died in 1710 in Madrid.
