RICHARD EILENBURG

13th January 1848 --- 5th December 1927

Richard Eilenberg was born in Merseburg, Germnay, Eilenberg's started his musical interest at a early age, His main love was the Piano, and
went on to study the piano and composition, (but I do not know who he studied under). One of his first composition was a concert overture
in 1866. Following the Franco-Prussian War which he volunteer for,  then in 1873 Eilenberg became the musicical director and conductor of
the orchestra in Stettin. In 1889 he decided to become a freelance composer and moved to Berlin.

Eilenberg is mostly remembered for his  compostions of Dances and Marches for orchestra and Piano,  he is thought to have composed over
350 works, which consist of saloon music, a Ballet The Rose of Shiras, Opus.134, also a operetta Comtess Cliquot(1909), but he really made
a name for himself for the marches he composed, which includes Coronation March, for Tsar of Russia, and the one I have sequenced below
The Guard March Out, a example of his salon music is The Petersburg Sleigh Ride, Opus. 52.

Eilenberg died in Berlin in 1927.  As always you can find more information online,  plus you can still download sheet music of this composer.
