JOSEPH IVANOVICI

28thSeptember 1845 --- 16thSeptember 1902

Joseph Ivanovici was born in Timisoara, Romanina, which was then part of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. His interest in music
began at a early age and one of the first instruments he learned to play was the flute,which was given to him and this lead to his
love of music.  Ivanovici moved to Galati in the  1880's Joining the  Romanian army and  reaching the rank of offficer,  it was his
interest in music and  composing that  he developed  a strong interest  in military music  and became a military  band leader and
composer, were after some years he reached the rank of general inspector of military  songs for the whole of   Romania in 1900.
He moved to Bucharest in 1901, but became ill the year after and died in 1902.

Joseph Ivanovici  wrote over 350  various  composed work's e.g,  dance's, waltz's  and marche's,  but today his  only well known
work known to the public is The Waves of the Danube (which I have sequenced below). Some of his compositions, Waltz's Vision
de l'Orient Waltz Opus.147,  Golden Hours Waltz, Opus.128 (1893),  and one of his  last work's La Bella Roumaine Waltz, (1901).
