JACQUES OFFENBACH

20th June 1819 --- 5th October 1880

Jacques Offenbach (1819-1880) a french composer, born in 20 June 1819, was a German-French composer, cellist of the romantic period
in his early years he was a accomplished Cellist and in 1833 he left his home in Cologne and travelled to Paris to do a special study in the
Conservatoire on the Cello.   He appeared as a Solo Cellist in a concert in London  Her Majesty's Theatre and and did  some more concerts
in England in the coming months to great acclaim and rapidly won fame and money in London.

He  returned to  Paris and in 1844  married his sweetheart  Herminie d'Alcain,  who was from Spain,  In 1857 he went back  to London to
conduct some of his own Operettas he had composer at the  St James Theatre some of his works he performed there included  Bata-Clan
and Le Soixante Six most were was very well received,  he was becoming one of the most popular composer's in Europe around this time.

In 1878 he produced his famous comic opera  Madame Favart which is still performed today (2019) at theThe Opera Comique, it plot was
based the disguises adopted by Madame Favart to escape the embraces  of Marshal Saxe, Offenbach composing his Swan  Song The Tales
of Hoffman and was practically finish when he died in 1880.
