GRENVILLE DEAN WILSON

26th January 1833 --- 20th September 1897

I can find very little information on this American composer, below is all I could find.

Grenville Dean Wilson. Born was in Plymouth, Connecticut in 1833. Wilson was a American piano music teacher and composer, here
are some of his more popular piano pieces,  which included  Chapel in the Mountains,  Opus.164,  The Wayside Chapel, Opus.42,  the
next one was one of his early piece's,  (This is the piece I have sequenced) The Shepherd Boy, Opus.4 and Moonlight on the Hudson,
Opus.60.

Wilson arrived  in Nyack in  the  late 1860s  to take  up his position as  Piano teacher at the  Rockland Female Institute.  Wilson was
Instrumental in organizing  and founding the Nyack Choral Society and  the Nyack Philharmonic.  He taught the piano here until his
death in 1897. Wilson also founded the Nyack Library. After his death, his wife, Josephine,  donated his works to the Lenox Library.
