FELIX ARNDT

20th May 1889 --- 16th October 1918

Felix Arndt (May 20, 1889 - October 16, 1918) was an American pianist and composer of popular music. His mother was the Countess Fevrier
Felix was educated  in New York and one of his music  teachers was Carl Lachmund,  Felix among  his many  talents composed  songs for  the
famous vaudeville team of Jack Norworth and Nora Bayes,  was a famous painist of his times and created 1,000's of Player Piano rolls for the
likes of for Duo-Art and QRS Records,  and that George Gershwin use to  visit Felix in his New York Studio  and that Gershwin may have been
influnce by Felix Composing Jazz style of music.

Felix is best remebered for his 1915  composition Nola one of the first examples of the novelty piano or "novelty ragtime"  genre, Felix Arndt
was then very much in love with his fiancee Nola and wrote this piece as a engagement gift,  she later became his wife but sadly  Felix Arndt
died a early death in New York city aged 29 during the Spanish Flu pandemic.
