FANNY MENDELSSOHN
14^th November 1805 --- 14^th May 1847

Fanny Mendelssohn, was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1805 and was German composer who was not allowed to receive credit for her composer's
ability, as social conventions of the time about the roles of women was frown upon, earning money from music or work was socially unacceptable,
as at that time it was seen that a man in the nineteenth century had the right to make the decisions as head of the family. Her only works were
some various songs and musical pieces, that she had to published under her brother's name.

Fanny received a her musical education, first from her mother, and shortly later by Carl Friedrich Zelter and some others composers. Both her and
Felix Mendelssohn shared the same education and the two developed a very close relationship. It was not until 1846 against her famliy wishes she
published a collection of songs as her Opus 1. Very sadly shortly after Fanny died from complications after a stroke in 1847.

Fanny was a more accomplish pianist then Felix, Fanny or Cacilie Mendelssohn, was married in 1829 and became Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel. Fanny
composed nearly 500 works, a example of which was a piano trio, piano quartet, orchestral overture, and over 125 pieces for the piano, plus many
others, sadly most were unpublished in her lifetime.
