MONTAGUE EWING

21 May 1890 --- 4th March 1957

Ewing was born London in 1890, I am not sure but looking online it seems he was mostly self-taught as a musican, his early career he was pianist
and accompanist various artists  at places like Herne Bay etc.   He mainly known for his light music,  salon pieces,  and piano works popular in the
early 20th century. You will find more info on this composer on the internet.

Ewing one of his most poplar musical piece is Policeman's Holiday in 1911. He did other on the same theme like The Police Patrol and The Burglar's
Dream, after the First World war that Ewing had heard the new dance music etc from the USA and would use pseudonym American sounding name
Sherman Myers as well as other names, to try to have his music published in the USA which he was quite successful.
