RONALD BINGE

15thJuly 1910 --- 6thSeptember 1979

Ronald Binge was born  15th July 1910 in Derby.  He started his career as  a cinema organist and later learned
to play the piano accordian and went to working in summer with orchestras in English seaside resorts.

Later on he became the arranger to "The Mantovani Orchestra" and created the cascading strings "the famous
Mantovani sound".

Had a break for military service in the Royal Air Force after which he then resumed with Mantovani, eventually
resigning  to devote more  time to his own composition.  He Composed, among  others,for Alto saxophone in  E
flat major,  Elizabethan Serenade,  The Water Mill  and Sailing. plus his ambitious "Symphony in C" also known
as the "Saturday Sythphony"

He died on 6th September 1979.
