ANATOLY ALEXANDROV

25th May 1888 --- 16th April 1982

Anatoly Alexandrov was born in Moscow, and was a well known composer in the Soviet period, he mostly composed for the piano but he did composed
for other instruments as well.   his style at the beginning  had a mystical feel to it,  he had to change when the Soviets took over  to best fit in with the
then  political system,  his music reflects the adherence  to the Soviet code,  so he tried to  keep under  the radar of the  soviet state controllers,  as he
became more famous he then began to composed in his own stlye.

Alexandrov father was the Professor of Tomsk State University, he entered the Moscow Conservatory, he studied under various well known professors,
Konstantin Igumnov piano and  Alexander Ilyinsky for composition until 1915,  his music had been  influence by Alexander Scriabin.   A few years later
he became Professor at the Moscow Conservatory in 1923, Alexandrov's first biographer,  wrote in 1926 it was said that Alexandrov is before anything
else a poet.

Alexandrov composed 14 Piano Sonata's  Alexandrov and composed romances, based  on the words Alexander Pushkin,  Yevgeny Baratynsky,  Fyodor
Tyutchev, he died in Moscow in 1982.
