MATTEO CARCASSI

8th April 1792 --- 16th January 1853

For a fuller Bio on Matteo Carcassi please visit This website. Below is just a brief Bio.

Matteo Carcassi was born on  1792 in Florence,  Italy,  while a child he studied the piano,  and slightly later  on moved onto  studying the guitar.
For some reason when a teenager he moved to Germany,  were he was very successful,  and then maybe feeling adventurous,  joined the French
army until the end of the Napoleonic Wars in 1815, the end of which he moved to Paris, earning his living as a teacher of the piano and the guitar.

Most of the midi music I have of Carcassi is for the Guitar. He later moved to Germany around 1823 to 1824, later he went on a European tour of
most of the major cities including London, cementing his reputation as a virtuoso concert guitarist.

He transcribed many poplar piano works songs to the Guitar, after many years traveling all around Europe,  he must have grown tired as he stop
giving concert's in the 1840's, he died in france in 1853.
